ABOUT DIEGO CARDONA
With over six years of experience in public service, I am a passionate and driven community organizer, campaigner, policy analyst, and life-long learner. In any of my current or previous capacities, paid positions, or volunteer roles my mission has always been to advance social justice while fostering inclusive work environments that deliver creative and progressive solutions. In my current role as Senior Advisor to the Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport of B.C, I provide strategic leadership in critical files related to our province’s creative industries, the arts and cultural sectors, and key special projects related to advancing our government’s commitment to reconciliation, anti-racism and EDI. I’m currently pursuing a Master\'s degree in Justice Studies from Royal Roads University, and I have completed prestigious fellowships in leadership, innovation, and diversity. I bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team, as a multi-lingual speaker of English, Spanish and French, a former foster child, a proud queer-man, and a former refugee from Colombia. I strive to use my skills in policy analysis, community organizing, and organizational development to enable, facilitate, and bring communities together to achieve common goals.
