ABOUT DIEGO ALCARAZ LOPEZ
Hi, my name is Diego! I am a second-year student at The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Lee Business School, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems. I have a strong interest in data-driven finance and long-term growth within asset and wealth management. Boxing has been the foundation of my mindset for the better part of a decade. I actively train with the UNLV Boxing Team and continue to hone my skills in the ring against high-level collegiate, amateur, and professional athletes. Through rigorous years of training, boxing has instilled in me consistency, discipline, mental toughness, and intensity. These are all principles that guide me in my approach to leadership, academics, and my professional development. Moreover, I also serve as a mentor and boxing coach with a non-profit organization supporting at-risk youth, where I emphasize self-belief, accountability, and intrinsic motivation. I’ve held multiple leadership roles in high-pressure and volume operations, including managing teams of over 25 associates during peak work hours. These experiences have led me to handle pressure and high stakes while being able to communicate clearly and execute goal-oriented ideas with focus. Being an immigrant from Mexico, I have worked hard because of the support of both my parents. Seeing their sacrifices fills me with a drive to achieve greatness and sharpen my tools to achieve that. So I can prove their hardships weren’t in vain. I value leadership, progress, and settings where I can not only grow professionally but as a person too. I’m always looking to connect with others who share an interest in impact-driven careers.
