ABOUT DIEGO P.

I’m a neural engineer working at the intersection of neural decoding, speech neuroprosthetics, and brain–computer interfaces. My work centers on extracting meaningful structure from multi‑region intracranial recordings and translating those insights into systems that restore or augment human communication. My background blends electrophysiology, signal processing, and statistics with strategic communication and translational thinking. I’m especially interested in how emerging neurotechnologies transition from the lab to real-world impact. An interest that has led me to explore the pathways of venture capital and medical-device entrepreneurship, shaping the future of neurotechnology and biomedical innovation.I’m currently pursuing my PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Utah, where I work on neuroengineering research spanning both cortical and subcortical domains. I’m motivated by problems that require precision and creativity, and by teams that value clarity, curiosity, and thoughtful design. If you’re working on neural interfaces or translating complex science into meaningful products, I’d love to connect.
