I am working on clinical and basic science projects to study rare metabolic genetic disorder galactosemia in the laboratory of Dr. Gerard Berry.* Established induced pluripotent stem cell based disease models for inborn errors of metabolism, specifically for galactosemia and phenylketonuria* Studied metabolic perturbations in galactosemia as Society for Inherited Metabolic Disorders/Hyperion Fellow* Demonstrated the use of LC-MS/MS based GALT assay to detect very low percentages of enzyme activity and to predict phenotype in the largest single center study for galactosemia* Developed a cerebral organoid model for galactosemia* Derived primary fibroblast cell lines from multiple patients with rare or undiagnosed diseases for Manton Center for Orphan Disease Research* Managed IRB, IBC, IACUC protocols for Berry laboratory
