ABOUT DICKY RICHARD MOORE

With almost three decades in technology, I combine hands-on engineering expertise with strategic leadership across platform engineering, AI-driven development, and organisational transformation. I’ve led diverse teams of developers, platform engineers, analysts, and delivery specialists, scaling squads up to 75 people as a Squad Circle Lead and shaping high-trust, high-growth engineering cultures.My work spans complex cloud, infrastructure, and distributed systems delivery across regulated industries, with a particular focus in recent years on AI-driven and agentic development. I contribute to steering groups on AI-Augmented and Agentic Engineering, helping teams adopt new ways of working that blend automation, autonomy, and human creativity. I am also an active contributor to the BMAD community.Alongside my client delivery roles, I serve as CTO of Gigz, and as an AI & Intelligence Advisor and Board Advisor to emerging technology startups including Ingomu. I hold multiple AWS certifications in AI, Machine Learning, Cloud Architecture, and Platform Engineering, reflecting a deep, continually evolving commitment to modern engineering practices.My platform engineering approach is rooted in automation, pragmatism, and a belief in levelling up people as much as systems. That ethos has delivered award-winning outcomes including an IT Europa Excellence Award for Innovative Crisis Management, and enabled successful transformations such as large-scale cloud migrations, microservices modernisation, and resilience engineering through chaos and disaster-recovery tooling.Feeling the fear and doing it anyway has been a recurring theme in my career. Whether contributing to HashiCorp Packer without prior Go experience, founding the Bristol WinOps meetup to help Windows engineers adopt cloud-native practices, or DJing at the Royal Albert Hall for a Cirque du Soleil event with almost no experience, I’ve always stepped bravely, with a level-head, into uncertainty. That same willingness continues to shape my approach to exploring new, modern, AI-augmented engineering practices.Outside of tech, I’m a recovering musician (sometimes with Scritti Politti) and a youth football coach. Both roles continue to inspire how I think about teamwork, creativity, and resilience.
