About Richard Mucci

Dick is an experienced insurance industry executive and board director who is an expert in insurance business governance and management. Since his retirement from full time work at the end of 2019, he has developed a portfolio of activities which include serving as an advisor to a venture capital company and several tech start-ups, pursuing an expanded role in the non-profit area, coaching senior executives, and working as a part-time, adjunct professor to an MBA program. Before his retirement, Dick served as the President of the Group Protection business for the Lincoln Financial Group. In this role, he was responsible for the strategy, operations, and financial management of a more than $4 billion revenue non-medical employee benefit domestic business. While at Lincoln, he successfully led an acquisition which doubled the size of the business.In 2012, he founded Brant Point Consulting, a governance and management advisory firm after retiring from New York Life where he was Chairman and CEO of New York Life International. While at NY Life International, he led their multinational insurance operation and served as a Board Director for several subsidiary companies including the joint ventures in India and China.Before New York Life, Dick led the employee benefit business for The Hartford, and the individual disability income business for MassMutual. Earlier, he rose to the level of Chief Operating Officer and served as a Board Director for The Paul Revere Corporation, a public company. At Paul Revere, he led several businesses and served in major financial roles including Chief Actuary.Dick\'s management leadership experiences have included situations involving turn-arounds, developing new business models and strategies, M&A, and building high performance teams while consistently achieving superior results. He is known as someone who has effectively guided large complex multinational insurance businesses to achieve profitable growth.
