ABOUT DICK BROWN

As Chairman and CEO of Kathairos Solutions Inc, Dick Brown is committed to reducing methane emissions at the pace and scale needed to meet the urgency of the moment. A serial innovator and entrepreneur, Dick recognized that the cryogenic properties of liquid gases could be harnessed to drive down harmful GHG emissions. Specifically, liquid nitrogen could be used as a replacement instrument gas to power oil and gas operations, eliminating methane venting and leaks. The idea was innovative precisely in its simplicity. Dick recognizes that to make an impact, decarbonization technologies must work for industry. The nitrogen-based methane-elimination system developed by Dick and the Kathairos team is simple, reliable and affordable. As a result, nitrogen has skyrocketed to become the preferred methane-elimination solution for North America’s oil and gas industry. Prior to entering the methane space, Dick established himself as a renowned leader and innovator in the North American small-scale liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry. In 2001, Dick founded Ferus, an energy services company specializing in the supply and delivery of cryogenic products for well stimulation. Following Ferus’ success, Dick founded Ferus Natural Gas Fuels LP and Houston-based Eagle LNG Partners, successfully positioning them as globally recognized leaders in natural gas fueling, and further establishing himself as a renowned innovator in a highly conventional field.Earlier in his career, Dick served in key management positions at Amoco Petroleum Company Ltd, after which he founded, developed and divested two successful independent oil and gas companies. He holds an engineering degree from the University of Alberta (gold medal recipient) and brings more than 40 years of senior energy industry leadership and expertise to his work.
