As CEO of Cylient, I not only provide the vision for the business, I also work closely with our clients—ranging from smaller companies to some of the world’s biggest brands—supporting them in bringing coaching cultures to life in their organizations. That can involve training thousands of people, globally, to transition to coaching-based leadership as their preferred leadership style. The name, Cylient, is derived from the word “consilience” which generally means, finding the unified truth of something by approaching it from different perspectives. That’s what I’ve done with coaching. I’ve looked at what coaching really is, and what truly makes it work, by observing coaching interactions through multiple lenses—as a Master Certified Coach (ICF) with 20+ years of experience, as a change management consultant working in Fortune 500s, as the co-author of a textbook on the business case for coaching, and as a pioneer and leader in the creation of coaching cultures. From my experiences, I’ve discerned the fundamental principles that distinguish coaching that delivers transformational results from approaches called “coaching” that fall short of that promise. I’ve translated the simple, yet powerful, unifying truths I discovered into a comprehensive system that instills coaching cultures in organizations of any size—from one of the largest banks in the world, to small construction companies, and global manufacturers. That comprehensive system is Cylient’s only offering. We call it Creating Change-Able® Organizations, which is Cylient’s term for coaching cultures, because that\'s what coaching cultures deliver. At Cylient, we believe that coaching cultures give organizations the ability to metabolize complex change into opportunities to thrive and win, in their own way, on their own terms.
