ABOUT DIANN CASTLE

I am a seasoned legal professional with a unique multidisciplinary background that combines psychiatric nursing, rehabilitation counseling, and law. My career has been driven by a deep commitment to advocacy and a belief in the power of empathy, understanding, and personalized solutions.Born in Oxbow, Saskatchewan, and raised in Cochrane, Alberta, my journey began in healthcare, where I earned a Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing in 1977 and a Diploma in Rehabilitation Counselling in 1978. These early experiences shaped my approach to addressing the diverse needs of individuals and instilled a strong sense of compassion—qualities that continue to guide my legal career.After completing my Bachelor of Arts at the University of Calgary in 1983, I pursued a Juris Doctorate from the University of Windsor, graduating in 1987. I was called to the Bar in 1988 and went on to establish Castle & Associates in 1991, where I provide holistic legal representation for marginalized communities, drawing from my healthcare and counseling expertise.With over 35 years of experience in law, I have represented clients at all levels of the judiciary, amassing over 100 reported decisions. I am a passionate advocate for mediation, negotiation, and counseling as the first steps in resolving conflicts, believing that these methods provide more sustainable and humane outcomes than litigation alone.Outside of my professional life, I am an avid traveler, having explored over 90 countries and territories. From marveling at the Taj Mahal to trekking through ancient Roman ruins, my travels have enriched my understanding of cultures and allowed me to form lifelong friendships across the globe.At the heart of my career is a commitment to justice, empathy, and the belief that every individual deserves personalized, compassionate legal representation. I’m always open to new connections and collaborations that align with my passion for advocating for the underserved and bringing about positive change.
