I have had a lifelong battle with psoriasis. In 1963 I was 5 years old; on my 1st day of school, I was 90% covered with unsightly scales all over my body. My teacher, fearing that I was contagious, wouldn’t let me in the classroom. Instead, I was taken to a hospital where my head was shaved and I was quarantined for 3 months while doctors tried to figure out what I had. I have had psoriatic arthritis for 25 years. My goal is to improved medical care, get a greater public understanding of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. I want to increased research and improve the lives of people who live with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis and explore the challenges psoriasis presents to the psoriasis community everyday. I look to connect with patients as they learn, grow and lead themselves to a better understanding of their disease. I love empowering psoriasis patients with powerful information.
