About Diane Smith
I am the Director of Employee Experience at the W.K. Kellogg Foundation in Battle Creek, Michigan. In this role, I support foundation efforts to promote thriving children, working families and equitable communities.In this role, I design and enhance meaningful experiences across the employee lifecycle—ensuring our people feel supported, connected, and empowered to thrive both personally and professionally.I joined the foundation in 1994 and have served as a program officer in the foundation’s priority place of Battle Creek. I\'ve also served as assistant to the deputy director for Family Economic Security, as a program manager for the foundation’s Michigan work, as well as a program assistant to the policy, program and organizational learning team, and the health team. I am a graduate of Argubright Business College and Kellogg Community College, and received a Bachelor of Applied Science in management as well as a Master of Business Administration with a focus on strategic management from Davenport University. I\'m also a LUMA Institute Certified Practitioner of Human-Centered Design and certified in Change Management for Managers through Prosci. I’m Remote Work Certified and have participated in foresight and futures-thinking training through the Institute for the Future. I\'ve participated in many community activities, including the Binder Park Great Zoo Boo, Cereal City Corporate Cup, United Way Day of Caring, Crop Walk, Big Brothers/Big Sisters Career Mentor Program and the Volunteer Community Kitchen. I\'ve served on local boards and committees including the Battle Creek College Access Network Board, the Battle Creek Promise Zone Authority Board, the S.E.E.D. Award Advisory Committee with Battle Creek Public Schools, and the Policy Advisory Committee at the Battle Creek Area Mathematics and Science Center. I am a member of the Women of Impact Giving Circle and have volunteered with the Early Grade Reading program and Charitable Union for several years.
