ABOUT DIANE KOSIOR

I am a fourth year student at the Indiana University Kelley School of Business pursuing a major in marketing with a co-major in digital and social media business applications as well as a minor in apparel merchandising. My interests and skills lie within collaboration, leadership, good communication skills, and time management. In high school I was a member of my school’s dance team, honor’s society, student council, Business Professionals of America, and our anti-bullying club CASS (Creating a Safe School). I worked as a shift leader and barista at a coffee shop for about a year and was able to work on my leadership, delegation, communication, and learned how to deal with things such as handling money, helping customers, and problem solving. I also worked as a dance, gymnastics, and ninja instructor and am able to work more on my teamwork, leadership, and communication skills.Now at Indiana University I am able to use the skills that I have been working on and obtaining over time and am able to expand my knowledge. I am working to continue to broaden my personal and professional development. I am involved in many clubs here at IU like Balance at Kelley which is a mental health based club where we are working towards ending the stigma around mental health. I also am involved in the Indiana University Dance Marathon where we were able to raise over 3 million dollars this year for Riley’s Children’s Hospital, and I personally was able to raise $2500. We also were given the opportunity at the marathon to meet some of the kids and to hear all their amazing stories. I am involved in the Kelley Institute for Social Impact and am a KISI student ambassador. As a student ambassador we work to try and bridge the gap between sustainability and business and are also able to participate in community service around the community.I hope to continue strengthening my leadership, communication, and collaboration skills during my time at Indiana University and hope to hold a leadership position in any way that I am able to. I hope to have an internship in the near future with the ultimate goal of being able to work for the marketing department of a large retail company.
