ABOUT DIANE DOWLING
I’m proud to work at the Raspberry Pi Foundation, championing computer science education for young people and their teachers worldwide. I lead the teams behind Experience AI, our flagship resources for AI literacy, as well as Data Science and the Code Club Projects site, which inspires learners through creative coding projects across the globe. I also oversee the development of curriculum resources in India, Kenya, the USA, and South Africa supporting our amazing local teams.My career spans IT, education, and international development. I began as an IT professional in systems development, strategy, and process improvement, before volunteering with VSO in Guyana to support IT education. Returning to the UK, I worked in education as Head of Computer Science and later Head of Faculty at a large sixth form college, leading curriculum innovation and national pilots.Alongside my professional work, I am a passionate advocate for extending opportunities beyond the classroom. As a Trustee of Student Robotics, I help run the UK’s largest autonomous robotics competition for sixth formers. I’ve coached UK teams at international competitions including the FIRST Global Olympiad (Washington DC 2017, Geneva 2022) and served as a judge at global robotics events in China and Malaysia.
