ABOUT DIANE DILLON
Dr. Diane Dillon (she/her/hers) comes to Simon\'s Rock with 25 years of clinical, teaching, and leadership experience. She joins a talented multi-disciplinary team that provides holistic, high quality health care to diverse students with dignity and compassion. Using evidence-based best practices, their approach to mental health and wellness is strength-based, trauma-sensitive, and developmentally-informed. A lifelong ally for adolescents and families, Diane brings a broad range of professional experience and universal, humanistic values to her work with racially and gender diverse students and systems. She has worked with adolescents and adults from around the world at the Hotchkiss School, High Watch Recovery, Canyon Ranch, Berkshire Farm, and NYC public and private schools. Previously, Diane was on faculty at Columbia University where she taught in health and behavior studies, helped found the School at Columbia University and directed the child study team. She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Marshall Islands. Diane graduated from Hamilton College (AB cum laude), Columbia University (MA), the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (PhD) and the Albert Ellis Institute (Post-doctoral Fellowship, REBT/CBT). She is credentialed by the National Health Service Providers in Psychology; the Psychology Licensing Boards in MA, CT, and NY; and EMDRIA as an EMDR-certified psychotherapist, and an EMDR consultant. In addition to her focus on positive identity development, trauma healing, and compassionate connections, Diane enjoys hiking, travel, and the beauty of the Berkshires where she lives with her family.
