   As a Park Ranger, I lead public outreach and environmental education efforts while serving as a first responder and liaison between the County and the community. My work centers around connecting people to the land and fostering environmental stewardship through clear communication, educational programming, and inclusive community engagement.I’ve developed and delivered interpretive programs on conservation, wildlife, and park safety for audiences of 200+ people, and regularly facilitate community events that bring together diverse groups around shared stewardship goals. Notably, I’ve coordinated volunteer events with local and international organizations, helping organize large-scale conservation efforts in Howard County.In high-pressure environments—such as medical emergencies, missing persons incidents, and enforcement situations—I coordinate closely with Police, Fire & Rescue, and DNR to ensure clear communication and effective incident management. I’m often the first point of contact for the public during these critical moments, balancing calm leadership with public service.I also train and mentor new rangers in interpretive communication, public engagement, and conflict de-escalation and serve as a Field-Training Ranger in an official capacity. This role has allowed me to grow as both a communicator and a leader, and has deepened my passion for building community through purposeful, people-first messaging.
