ABOUT DIANA FRANCES

Diana won the 2024 Writer\'s Guild of Canada Award for Best Feature the romantic drama, THE BURNING SEASON (co-written with Jonas Chernick), which also won Best Screenplay at the 2023 Whistler Film Festival and at the Canadian Film Festival. Her half-hour comedy GIVEN UP (about her gong-show life with adoption) is currently in development with The CW Network and Blue Ant Studios. She also has two projects optioned with Buffalo Gal Pictures. Diana won a 2020 Canadian Screen Award for Best Writing: Animation for Corner Gas Animated, and was nominated for a 2020 CSA for Best Writing, Variety or Sketch Comedy, as well as a 2020 Writer\'s Guild of Canada Award for Corner Gas Animated. She won the 2017 Sondra Kelly Award at the Writers Guild of Canada Awards, and is an alumni of the Canadian Film Centre\'s Primetime TV Writing Program. Diana has written for The Beaverton (The Comedy Network) JFL Galas, Still Standing (CBC) The Hour with George Stromboulopoulous (CBC), This Hour Has 22 Minutes (CBC) and Comedy Inc.(CTV.) She has written comedy monologues for several awards shows, including The ACTRA Toronto Awards (2015, 2016, 2018), The Canadian Screen Awards (2018, 2019) Just for Laughs Gala (2017, 2018, 2019), The Director\'s Guild of Canada Awards, and the 20••••23 Rockie Awards at the Banff World Media Festival. Diana has been nominated for 8 Canadian Comedy Awards for \'Best Female Improviser,\'​ and is a regular performer with The Vancouver TheatreSports League. She was the Vice President of Rock Paper Scissors Comedy Creations, who entertained our Canadian soldiers in Bosnia, Egypt, Israel and Afghanistan. Diana is also a really good parallel parker.
