ABOUT DIANA PAOLA MORENO ALARCON
Welcome, I am currently a Provisional Officer at the Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGAC), in training as an Air Traffic Safety Electronics Engineer (Ingénieur Électronicien des Systèmes de la Sécurité Aérienne, IESSA) at the South-East Air Navigation Service (SNA Sud-Est) in partnership with the École Nationale de l’Aviation Civile (ENAC), while continuing my Research in Aviation Safety and Risk Management. Previously, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher in Safety and Risk Management in Aviation at the École Nationale de l’Aviation Civile (ENAC) in France. As a member of the Airbus Research Chair, my research explored the Impact of auditability in Safety Management Processes on Aviation Safety, with a focus on understanding their practical implications for Aviation Safety. In 2021, I completed my PhD in Management Science and Engineering of Hazardous Activities at the Crisis and Research Centre (CRC) of MINES ParisTech – PSL Research University in France, in collaboration with the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA). My doctoral research focused on Management Control Systems (MCS) used for Risk and Safety Management of subcontractors in the French nuclear sector. I also hold a Master’s degree in Research in Management Science (2015) and an MBA (2013) from IAE Nice, a Teaching and Learning postgraduate degree from Canterbury University, New Zealand (2007), and a BSc in Neuro-Endocrine Physiology from the University of Toronto (2003). My proficiency in languages (Spanish, English, French and Italian) and international work experience across five continents is a key asset in fostering intercultural exchanges in aviation safety and research.
