I relocated last year, May 2024, from Dallas, TX to a small town, Orange, VA.My first year living near the Blue Ridge Mountains has been amazing. I completed a personal goal this last May 2025. With my dog\'s help, I hiked all 513 miles of trails in Shenandoah National Park. It took 1,175 miles of hiking on weekends and holidays and through all four seasons to complete within the year. More than twice the miles to cover the 513 (out and backs, do overs because of high streams or impossible blow-downs).What\'s next? Nola and I are now working on hiking the Appalachian Trail within the state of Virginia, 550 miles. Starting fresh, we plan to repeat the 100 miles covered in Shenandoah National Park. I\'m excited for the new challenge!My day job, Senior Level Accountant.
