ABOUT JAD DIAB
A multidisciplinary scientist.Initially a mechanical engineer specialized in automotive and transportation, I have worked on research projects on electric hybrid powertrains in collaboration with Groupe PSA previously (now Stellantis), assessing the coupling of CCGTs for series hybrid vehicles.I also hold a master in energy from a chemical engineering perspective, focusing on alternative fuels (Hydrogen and Biofuels), carbon capture technologies, carbon utilization and carbon storage; main projects included a novel biodiesel processI have just finished my Ph.D. in thermal plasma engineering, studying high pressure plasmas (up to 20 bars) in collaboration with the silicon valley startup Monolith Materials.High pressure plasma has never been studied before academically from an experimental point of view, with few experiments at pressures above 1 bars, related to aerospace applications, running intermittently for few seconds/minutes only.In parallel to the engineering and science focus, I have been heavily invested throughout the past years in understanding the global system of actions, focusing on system dynamics to model and simulate socio technical systems for policy analysis and environmental impacts and costs. Parts of the studies have been published in UN/UNDP reports available online.
