About David Humphrey
My recent experience centers on building and operationalizing a multidisciplinary response to AI risk. My team and I have led the development of enterprise policies and procedures, driven organization-wide adoption, and designed reporting frameworks to monitor adherence and performance of AI solutions. My team’s primary focus is the ongoing execution, continuous improvement, and scalability of the AI risk program, while helping our partners and stakeholders where we can.I’m drawn to fast-paced, technology-forward environments where change is constant and automation is a must. I actively seek opportunities to streamline and automate processes, and I’m motivated by envisioning what’s possible, defining a path forward, and executing against that strategy. I align best with organizations that prioritize integrity and doing the right thing for customers, and I try to motivate my teams to do the same.Outside of work, I enjoy real estate investing and personal finance, home improvement projects, CrossFit and other fitness activities, as well as golf, chess, soccer, and snowboarding. Comical to remember that I had hobbies before my daughter arrived!

The Model Risk Oversight team oversees the use and risk of predictive modeling at Schwab.I lead the AI risk management team within Model Risk Oversight. Our team is responsible for maintaining the AI risk management standard, aligning the program with regulatory expectations (FHFA AB 2022-02) and industry practice (NIST AI 100-1), driving changes and improvements, managing audits and exams, remediating issues, maintaining a robust inventory system and related workflows, developing comprehensive metrics and reporting, running the AI modeling working group, and coordinating the program with AI owners, data scientists, and related risk programs across the 1LOD and 2LOD at the company.
