I am a sociable nerd, who thrives in the union of industry and academia.My aptitude for quantitative reasoning (I cleared the CT series—comprising 9 actuarial papers—in one attempt simultaneously with my bachelors, while securing 3rd rank in junior college and 1st rank in school) makes me a good fit for the general insurance and the finance sector—where the underlying models are mathematically taxing, and the scope for creativity is higher.Part of my joy in learning is that it puts me in a position to teach; nothing, however outstanding and however helpful, will ever give me any pleasure if the knowledge is to be for my benefit alone. If wisdom were offered to me on the one condition that I should keep it shut away and not divulge it to anyone, I should reject it. To this end, I teach a course on probability and statistics, which closely follows the portion of CS1. I also mentor students for CM2.I am proficient in Excel–having taught it for portfolio management and derivative pricing—with an elementary knowledge of R programming.
