ABOUT DHERAYA HANDA

My journey in Human Resources started with a simple curiosity: How do great workplaces keep everything running so smoothly behind the scenes? From my early days as a student HR representative to supporting the Ontario Public Service (OPS) as a Human Resources Assistant, I’ve found my answer—it’s a mix of people, processes, and the right technology. Over time, I’ve built hands-on experience with HRIS systems like SAP, ADP, Workday, and PeopleSoft, utilising these for onboarding and payroll support to employee data accuracy. I’ve cleared 1,500+ file backlogs, ensured payroll compliance, and answered complex HR inquiries by digging into collective agreements, policies, and HR data systems. Along the way, I discovered a love for turning data into decisions. Using Excel and Tableau, I’ve analyzed turnover trends, visualized workforce data, and supported projects that made HR processes smarter and faster. I also thrive in Microsoft 365—from Teams and OneNote to creating clear, accessible presentations in PowerPoint. Recently, I’ve been exploring generative AI tools like Copilot, using them to refine insights, draft reports, and simplify repetitive tasks, making my workflow more efficient. What drives me is building clarity out of complexity—whether it’s solving an employee issue, cleaning up a database, or presenting HR data that tells a story. As I grow in my HR career, I’m excited to keep combining people skills with technology and data to create workplaces where employees can thrive.
