About Dheeraj Singh
Dr. Dheeraj Kumar Singh is a seasoned scientist with over a decade of extensive experience in advanced and applied electrical engineering. He is currently making significant contributions as an emerging engineer within the Department of Atomic Energy (D.A.E) and serves as a faculty member at Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI). Recognized for his strong leadership capabilities, teamwork, and adept project management skills, Dr. Singh actively engages in all project stages, from conception to completion.His significant achievements include the simulation, design, development and commissioning of pulse power supplies for lasers. He is also responsible for commercialising this technology for large-scale production of this advanced laser technology. This is a first-of-its-kind IGBT and magnetic pulse compression power supply for lasers in India. Additionally, he has contributed significantly to resolving Electromagnetic Interference (EMI)/ Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) challenges in major projects at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC).After completing his engineering degree, he received offers from prominent multinational corporations such as Honda, Larsen and Toubro, and Bajaj Energy. However, he chose to join the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) as a Scientific Officer, where he continues to excel.Dr. Singh\'s achievements have been acknowledged through various awards and scholarships, including the Prime Minister Scholarship (20••••13), the Best PhD Thesis Award at the National Laser Symposium (NLS-32), and multiple Best Paper Awards at various conferences. He completed his PhD in Engineering, publishing over eight first-author journal papers within a span of 3.5 years. He is also renowned for his expertise in High-Voltage Engineering, Gas Discharge, Electromagnetic Compatibility, and Magnetic Pulse Compression, as well as proficiency in MATLAB, C/C++, and Laser Technology.
