ABOUT DHAVAL KAPADIA

Dhaval is an Angel Investor, mentor, and public speaker. He is also the Founder and Chairman of the Investors Institute.With Investors Institute, Dhaval focuses on preparing the next generation of early-stage investors through training, mentoring, and connecting them to resources. The goal is to make the best investments in the smartest way possible, and ensure that those investments blossom into industry-leading companies of tomorrow. For Startups, Dhaval helps them prepare for investors and after they receive funding, helps them put strong financial governance within the company to help them succeed.Dhaval has 15+ years of work experience in the highly competitive field of private equity investments, asset management, and consulting in New York City. He started his career in the Private Equity Division at Citigroup (parent company of Citibank). Here, Dhaval helped launch a series of funds that collectively raised over $3 billion in investments for the group. During the financial crisis of 2008, he helped in the sale of the group to Apollo Global Management. At Apollo, Dhaval played a major role in launching private equity funds focused on public and private commercial real estate. After Apollo, Dhaval started his asset management firm and serviced over $300 million in investments. Dhaval holds an MBA from Baruch College, City University of New York as well as a BS from Post College, Long Island University.Dhaval has been an active Charter Member of TiE SoCal for five years and has assisted in many different ways to build up the chapter. He played a key role in launching the original Angel Fund and has actively run the pitch events for the past 2+ years.
