ABOUT DHANDAPANI SAMINATHAN

I am an agricultural graduate with vast knowledge on water, sustainable agriculture and dairy extension having 27 years of experience in technology transfer approach and development, strategy development on people participatory programs, social mobilization techniques like Geo-PRA and expert in planning and micro planning. My journey of 16 years with Auroville International working on a range of projects funded by the EC, FE, FAO, IFAD, DST, ICEF, NABARD and the World Bank with covering a range of fields of agriculture, women empowerment, sanitation, rural upliftment, student knowledge enhancement, environmental monitoring, participatory irrigation management, judicial water usage, precision farming, livelihood enhancement and sustenance. Having a strong skill in team building, institutional development, and designing capacity building programmes. Recently working with Animal Husbandry team at Hatsun Agro Products Ltd developing large scale dairy extension model which focus on cost-effective dairy development through awareness creation on early lactation management, disease diagnosis and prevention, product promotions and recommendation, fodder development and improving farmers’ income through more profitable milk production from cows. Major backbone support for farmers based milk procurement.
