About Dakshesh G.
At the Center for Unified Biometrics and Sensors (CUBS), I research on the intersection of artificial intelligence, cognition and robotics. My work addresses the challenges of integrating parameter-efficient large language models into real-time robotic systems. We work with speech language pathologists to develop a therapeutic robotic assistant, capable of communicating effectively with children with special needs. This dedication stems from my pursuit of leveraging intelligence and automation towards societal impact and betterment of human life. I have been involved in several projects that push the boundaries of computational linguistics, robotic hand gesture replication, clinical psychology and psychophysiology automation, to develop innovative solutions to improve the lives of children with special needs, specially abled people and the general population.

Worked in Human Behavior Modeling Lab collaborating with Early Child Learning Lab, under the supervision of Dr. Ifeoma Nwogu (CSE) and Dr. Federica Bulgarelli and Dr. Alison Hendricks (linguistics)- Developed a healthcare-focused NLP pipeline to analyze parent-child audio interactions, classifying toddler development (late talkers vs. typically developing). Leveraged OpenAI Whisper for transcription and Pyannote for diarization to address key needs in healthcare diagnostics- Enhanced linguistic analysis for pattern recognition, achieving 94% and 97% classification accuracy in specialized vocabulary leveraging causal modeling to provide actionable insights for developmental analytics. by creating novel part-of-speech tags and applying causal modeling to analyze vocabulary, delivering actionable insights to support classification.
