ABOUT DEE RUSSELL-THOMAS
With over 30 years education experience in UK and overseas, in state and private sector and from infant through to University level, I am able to support, advise and provide training in areas of school improvement, planning for inspections, lesson observations and performance management. Sharing specific expertise in \"Closing the Gap\" for our most vulnerable young people (BME,FSM,CLA) and ensuring equality of opportunity my approach is non threatening, based on proven, practical initiatives and successful stories. Parent training facilitation, guidance and counselling, mentoring and motivational speaking also provided. Management and Leadership skills are explored with a focus on positive direction leading to outstanding outcomes. I am also a School Improvement Partner/ Head Teacher appraiser, a trained Ofsted inspector, an evaluator for the Ministry of Education in the Northern Emirates, UAE and an inspector for KHDA/DSIB in Dubai. I am an inspector/evaluator for British Schools Overseas(BSO) working in Africa, The Far East and The Middle East. I am employed by the Cayman Government to inspect their schools too. I am Deputy Lieutenant of Gloucestershire (appointed by the late Queen Elizabeth II), Director of “Water for Life” where I have helped fund several water bore holes in remote African villages and I am a trustee of The My Body is my Body Child protection programme. I am also a UK Child Welfare ambassador for the MBIMB child protection programme. For the last two years I have been selected as a UK delegate for UN women.I am an NHS Responder, a vaccination steward and a volunteer with Cheltenham Welcomes Refugees where we have recently been presented with The King’s Award for Voluntary Services (KVAS). I am a member of the Honourable Company of Gloucestershire and enjoy supporting charities both local and overseas.I enjoy writing poetry, particularly spoken word and am a member of the “New Bohemians” and the “SheSpoke” performing poetry groups. I also paint, draw, sing with my Rock Choir, read and walk in the countryside. I promote peace, tolerance, compassion and kindness and believe goodness will outweigh all. Hope is everything.
