About David Gates
I am passionate about making complex tasks become easy through intelligent design. Since 2017, I\'ve led PwC\'s work to build data-driven products in the customer domain. My teams have been at the center of work relating to consumer data across hundreds of engagements: First, I led an initiative to procure people and place datasets from multiple data vendors, then weave them into an integrated data model with licensable client SaaS access. Then, I bootstrapped a \"rapid PoC\" initiative to monetize our data by augmenting consulting in multiple verticals. Our process would embed a data analytics and visualization PoC team in a consulting engagement to accentuate value delivery with interactive mini-apps. One outcome of our work was a dataviz and dashboard design toolkit that was downloaded by over staff. Finally (and presently) I am building a product that unifies the best of our experiences in one easy-to-use place. Customer Link is a no-code analytic app that empowers a business analyst to work from a library of data attributes and built-in ML modeling tools to produce actionable insights, including store profiles, customer segmentations, and audiences, in just minutes. Outside of work, my passion for design spilled into real estate, where I partnered with a leading Austin architect to build and sell a small number of very cool (even for Austin) houses. Other than that, well, I love to cook a good Argentine asado, and go for canoe rides.
