ABOUT DIEGO FERNANDO VALENCIA GARCIA

Passionate for innovation, research and development of cutting-edge solutions for electrified vehicles, electric motor drives, power electronics and control strategies. I am currently living my dream of contributing to the development of a more sustainable future in transportation in my role as a senior motor controls engineer at Stellantis. Through my overall experience, I have had the chance of leading and supporting software design for electrified vehicle components. I have also interfaced with multiple teams for powertrain features planning, managed supplier interactions, and conduct multiple test scenarios in high-power dynamometers for traction electric motors. An overview of my skills/experiences: • R&D-engineering and innovation experience in the field of electrified vehicles and sustainable transportation, in particular, electric motor drives and power electronics controls • Experienced in electric motor drives control for hybrid electric and battery electric vehicles. • Extensive understanding of three-phase and six-phase AC induction | permanent magnet (PM)| reluctance motor controls. • Highly proficient with Matlab/Simulink, DSP/DSpace, and C coding. • Hands-on experience in implementing field-oriented and model predictive control for electric drives. • Experienced with traction motor and high-power electric dynamometer testing for electrified powertrains • Comfortable communicating complex data to lay and technical audiences in written, verbal, and visual formats
