Managed the day to day activity of the Admissions, Records, and Enrollment (A&R) department. Duties included, coordination of GCC Commencement; reorganization of GCC’s A&R department to increase productivity and efficiency; coordinated the design and relocation of key A&R personnel; managed transcript evaluations, academic probation appeals, student admission crisis issues; residency evaluations; and adjudicate staff conduct issues.• Direct, implement, and manage the effective delivery of services to military affiliated students. Provide one-stop student services including Veterans Services, Recruitment, Admissions and Records, Academic Advising, Financial Aid, and New Student Orientation.• Direct and administer retention and persistence programs; chair a Veterans’ Advisory Committee (charged to work on federal mandates and state affiliations in programs such as the 8 keys to success, Principles of Excellence, and Arizona Supportive Campus initiatives).• Identify and evaluate program needs, trends, goals, and objectives through annual strategic planning.• Manage a department budget; independent decision-making related to the veteran services department; coordinated program evaluations to ensure goals are being met and program is operating within Federal, State, and District compliance standards; developed, counseled, and maintained a comprehensive reporting system which provided statistical, operational and financial data to college executive leadership and outside agencies.• Responsible for representing the department and College on topics related to Veteran Services covering a variety of audiences to include; The City of Glendale Mayor’s Office, Glendale Chamber of Commerce, students, faculty, staff, community, State of Arizona Veterans Services Office, VA and DOD stakeholders. Provided workshops, training and presentations on numerous topics as they relate to student success, compliance, and education.
