As an Assurance Accountant with UCPath, I lead large-scale reconciliation and process improvement projects that strengthen the accuracy, transparency, and efficiency of systemwide payroll and accounting operations. Key Contributions:• Directed Deloitte and UCPath staff through the Payroll Liability Accounting Reconciliation Project; designed new reconciliation procedures, created subledger-to-ledger reports, and transaction-mapped postings, reducing ~90 unreconciled liability accounts to ~20 reconciliations spanning four years of transactions. • Rebuilt and optimized a key payroll journal entry process after a year-long lapse; developed sustainable documented procedures to ensure accuracy and timeliness. • Reconciled a multi-year fund balance in collaboration with the Budget team, resolving longstanding discrepancies and improving financial reporting and budget development. • Trained and mentored accountants (staff through manager level) on reconciliations, discrepancy investigation and journal entry processes, reducing review time and improving accuracy. • Developed SOPs and a monthly close checklist to prevent missed entries, standardize procedures and increase efficiency while strengthening audit readiness. • Served as a primary point of contact for audit requests improved relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
