ABOUT DEVON GEORGE
I have over a decade of experience working alongside First Nations leadership, Boards, community partners, and institutional stakeholders on community economic development and organizational initiatives. My background includes senior operational leadership roles, including serving as Chief Executive Officer of a First Nation development corporation, where I supported teams, governance processes, and relationship-based engagement across multiple community-driven initiatives.My work focuses on practical collaboration, accountability, and supporting organizations to align community priorities with operational and governance requirements. I have experience contributing to policy and program development, working within public-interest environments, and navigating complex and sensitive issues with care and professionalism.Earlier in my career, I founded and operated an Indigenous-owned social enterprise focused on supporting economic participation and workforce development for Indigenous women. This experience strengthened my understanding of accountable program delivery, partnership-based work, and the practical realities of translating community priorities into sustainable operations.I am currently completing an MBA in Community Economic Development, with a focus on governance, leadership, and sustainable economic outcomes. I am interested in roles that allow me to contribute my experience in Indigenous engagement, organizational leadership, and stakeholder collaboration within institutional and public-sector contexts.
