About Devon Cross
Mr. Cross is interested in the study of Global Health, specifically community health and development, from both a public health and clinical perspective. His overarching goal is to assess socioeconomic, environmental, cultural, and behavioral affects on the health of individuals, while considering clinical approaches to promote engaging and sustainable attitudes towards positive health outcomes; doing so without compromising the cultural integrity of the individuals and groups being serviced. Mr. Cross has studied global health, along with country-specific health disparities, in various regions of the world. He has implemented service and/or undertaken various studies in Australia, New Zealand, Peru, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Haiti, and Ethiopia, to name a few. While emphasizing Global Health as a Nurse Practitioner where he aims to provide clinical treatments and interventions as needed, he seeks to incorporate local partnerships and humanitarian aid and initiatives to those in developing countries and states domestically. In doing so, his clinical efforts are purposed to aid in the safety against - along with the treatment and understanding of - the myriad of diseases and illnesses that are present in various societies across the world, both communicable and non-communicable. Currently, Mr. Cross works as a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner in the Atlanta and Metro-Atlanta areas with an emphasis on Infectious Diseases at Southside Medical Center. There, he merges both primary care and infectious disease disciplines while overseeing their Ryan White Clinic in the acute and chronic care of persons living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
