About Devon Hawkes Ludlow

From entertainment to education, journalism to filmmaking, I work across a multiplicity of mediums. Known for my enthusiasm, originality and adaptability, I create innovation, integrity, and excellence in every endeavor. My film work has won a string of awards, while my TV and online work secured an Emmy win in 2024 for \'The Early Show With Alax\'. Most recently, the film \'Buddy\' was selected at Sundance 2026 for their opening night program, which I designed the puppets and suits for, led the fabrication team, performed most of the characters, and contributed VO for. I also work as a journalist and contributor for the journalist collective \'505 o matic\'.I\'m curious and ambitious and the result is a wide and wonderful background and a tireless desire to know more, see more, and DO MORE. I\'ve worked as a screenwriter, director, filmmaker, performer, TV Host, puppeteer, sailor, rancher, event designer, journalist, researcher, renewable energy lobbyist and analyst, and (my foavorite) composer. I often recieve great praise for my management and team leading approach, a role that I love and thrive in. I began my career as dancer, moving to physical theatre, puppetry and then a multiplicity of worlds. After several years touring globally as a performer, I focused on downtown NYC, performing at the Bowery Poetry Club, Joe’s Pub and the Public Theatre. I had the unique opportunity to work with the indie darlings of downtown NYC, including amazing talents like Taylor Mac and Julie Taymor. My driving focus then, as now, was artistic innovation and art as a catalyst for social change. Independent, independent, always independent. I later co-organized and founded the NYC International Clown Theatre Festival. In 2008 I moved into the independent film universe, working my way up from a PA into development and coverage, later taking charge as a director, designer, and editor. I\'ve had the great fortune to work with producers like George RR Martin, cult directors like Casper Kelly, and innumerable talented people.Since 2009 I have been a guest artist, puppeteer, writer and performer with artistic sensation Meow Wolf, creating original installations and performances for the House of Eternal Return as well as independent MW projects. As an instructor I\'ve taught film, performance, puppetry and performance workshops with Meow Wolf, MICA (Maryland Institute College of Art), The New Mexico Museum, Surrel\'s Place, the Albuquerque Museum, Jim Henson exhibition, and NMSA (New Mexico School for the Arts).
