   As a Deputy City Solicitor for the City of Springfield, I lead the Law Department\'s litigation division, directing the legal strategy for all civil actions and claims involving the City. In this capacity, I am responsible for protecting the City\'s interests and defending its officers, employees, and departments in all legal proceedings. My core responsibilities include:Serving as primary trial counsel for the City of Springfield in complex litigation across all state and federal courts and administrative agencies. Managing all phases of the litigation process, from initial claim investigation through pleadings, discovery, motion practice, settlement negotiations, trial, and appeals. Providing strategic legal advice and counsel to the Mayor, City Council, and all municipal departments, boards, and commissions on matters with potential litigation exposure. Drafting and arguing critical motions, briefs, and pleadings to advocate for the City\'s legal positions. Negotiating favorable settlements to minimize legal risk and reduce litigation costs for the City. Supervising a team of Associate City Solicitors, contract attorneys and legal staff.
