About Devnit Chaudhuri

Currently, I\'m a third-year Political Science Honours student with over 2 years of work experience in related fields. I\'m pursuing my graduate degree from Zakir Husain Delhi College, University of Delhi. I grew up in several places across India, from a young age I found myself witnessing different cultures, making friends from diverse backgrounds and identities. I always took a keen interest in writing about things that I learnt in school and tried to manifest the extents of my creativity through writing. Networking and communication along with adequate research analysis are paramount in the field that I aspire to establish myself in, thus, the internship under the mentorship of Shri Gaurav Gogoi served me greatly in identifying and honing my skills and intellect. Under the Member of Parliament, I was tasked as a research assistant and campaign coordinator. This meant that during state elections we were obliged to travel throughout the state of Assam extensively. Through the fruits of this incredible experience, I had the unique opportunity to witness the grassroot reality and the paradigm within which the people of my state exist. It also allowed me to gauge the extent to which public policy and legislation permeates to the rural level and the uneducated as and when we were collecting data for the election manifesto. It was in the contemplation after such experiences that I decided as a student I shall strive to be committed towards policy research and ground work on governance and developmental projects. A principle that I cultured through such internship experiences is that the best way to channelize information and data for the benefit of the people is to understand what the people are lacking and thus need in the first place. My robust interest in policy discourse and political dynamics can be accredited to the fact that academically I have always been inclined towards such studies. Having scored 99 in Political Science in my 12th board examination and further pursuing bachelors in political science has ingrained the zeal to gain work experience in research analysis and policy formulation. I went on to do another lucrative internship under I-PAC ( Indian Political Action Committee), as a member of their campaign operations team. This experience provided me the necessary boost in grasping the work culture and logistical efficiency required to delivery positive results.
