About Devin Honbarger

I am an associate attorney practicing business litigation, construction, and aviation law. I resolve disputes and defend claims and lawsuits involving companies, construction, general contractors, and sub-contractors. When companies face allegations, I protect their reputations and livelihoods with an all-in defense strategy. I have experience managing all stages of litigation including pre-suit negotiations, pleadings, discovery, depositions, mediations, motions practice, and trials.My experience includes litigating both commercial and general liability cases including construction defect, real property, premises liability, transportation, and commercial contract and business torts. With my construction defect work, I represent developers, manufacturers, general contractors, subcontractors, and design professionals. Devin has also represented clients in aviation accidents and incidents, premises liability, and transportation cases.During my time at Campbell Law School, I excelled academically, graduating with honors, and engaging in a variety of extracurricular activities, including the Old Kivett Moot Court Competition, the Veterans’ Pro Bono Project, and the Business Law Clinic. During law school, I interned with prominent organizations such as Verizon, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of North Carolina, Cranfill Sumner, and a small plaintiff’s firm.Before pursuing law, I served in the U.S. Army from 2008 to 2022, where I gained extensive leadership and high-pressure decision-making experience. As a combat medic, I earned the Soldier of the Year award twice, and later as a warrant officer, I served as an Apache helicopter pilot. My service includes a combat deployment to Afghanistan, where I was awarded the Air Medal and an Army Achievement Medal. My military background has helped shape my approach to legal practice, where I draw on my skills in effective communication, critical thinking, and working in high-stress environments.Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife, son and dog. We love traveling, skiing and cheering on the Appalachian State Mountaineers.
