About Devin Otwell
I am a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Maryland with extensive experience in creating 3D models and engineering drawings using software like SolidWorks, Fusion 360, and Autodesk Inventor. I believe that to be an effective design engineer, one must first develop an understanding of the challenges that arise during the manufacturing and assembly phases. I have seen firsthand many 3D models discarded because they could not be translated into viable physical products. This experience has taught me that the simplest design is often the best design. Additionally, I have spent countless hours working with programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, and C++. I am also trained in performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate stresses and identify potential points of failure.
