Administer standardized and non-standardized methods of evaluation to determine eligibility for special education services in the area of communication, develop individualized education plans in the area of communication, provide communication services to children 3 — 18 (primarily in developmental preschool programs and elementary schools with specialized programs) across a multitude of communication disorders. Communication services cover: functional communication, expressive/receptive language, articulation/phonology, voice and resonance disorders, fluency disorders, and pragmatic language. Services were provided in a mix of individual and group sessions as well as leading classroom lessons to support students and training staff in using Core Boards and AAC devices (lite, mid, and high tech). Additional responsibilities include partaking in guidance team meetings to provide Tier 1 supports to general education staff and students, participate in multidisciplinary meetings to determine need for special education evaluations, and provide staff and parent training to increase continuity of care.
