What makes me tick? People. The more important question is- What makes other people tick? This is where I come in. People are at the core of everything we do in Human Resources. Building competent, driven, and motivated teams are essential to the success of any organization. • Learning and Development: o 75% of HR professionals say candidates lack the skills needed to fill job openings (Source: SHRM). Identifying skill gaps and providing resources to develop team members create a culture of learning where people stay in their current roles and grow within the company. o As a natural teacher, the most rewarding aspect of my job is seeing the confidence of team members blossom when they’re provided with opportunities to learn. Providing resources for development lets employees know we value them enough to invest in their growth. o With my passion for training, I’ve helped develop team members to leadership positions in a variety of fields and levels within organizations. • Engagement: o A sense of community is needed where we live and work. Individuals who feel engaged at their place of employment are more productive, absent less, and have better retention. o We’ve all heard the saying “you can’t fix what you don’t know is broken.” Providing team members with consistent, timely feedback is integral to having engaged employees even when the conversation is difficult. I’m happy to provide guidance for those giving the constructive feedback and receiving. o Who doesn’t love recognition? I thrive on bringing positive attention to hard working team members. Through newsletters, employee recognition programs, or even a quick message, I ensure individuals are recognized for a job well done. o Engagement events are my jam! I love seeing people together outside their typical work environment. I’ve helped put on fashion shows, cook-offs, monthly meet and greets, and much more! We should play as hard as we work. Outside of my working hours I spend time with my fiancé and our friends at the lake having raging bonfires, doting on my 2 giant bloodhounds that are the loves of my life, reading fantasy books (I’m a Nesta girlie for life), and having as many adventures as possible!
