About Devan McElearney
My passion is solving problems. I love the challenge of taking a problem and breaking it down to its true issue, so that I can begin to develop possible solutions. I have always challenged the status quo and I try to think of different (simpler) ways to do things.I started my career in IT as a co-op, where I questioned what was happening when I was running the menial process. We ended up rebuilding the application when we realized it was not actually getting the proper results. I have been hooked on process improvement ever since. Currently, my challenge is translating a new, complex tech solution to true business value, that both leverages the technology and does something we never thought possible before. I think the key to success is who you work with and I try to build up the people around me. True agile is people over process, so determining the best way to work with a group and how you deliver is dependent on the team. Having a collaborative work culture invites different ways of thinking to the same problem and you can end up with a completely different solution than anyone would have discovered individually.I aspire to be constantly challenged, whether it be an implementation/development process or new ways to approach old problems. The strive to constantly improve will naturally grant me that opportunity.
