About Destiny Donaldson
I am a passionate and driven mental health professional currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Forensic Psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University. With a strong foundation in psychology and criminal justice, I am committed to bridging the gap between mental health and the legal system in order to pursue my ultimate goal of becoming a forensic psychiatrist. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Montclair State University, graduating with minors in Criminal Justice and Neuroscience, and consistent placement on the Dean’s List. I also hold an Associate of Arts in Psychology from Passaic County Community College and am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Homeland Security at the University of Arizona Global Campus (expected August 2026). Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have gained diverse, hands-on experience in clinical, educational, and forensic settings. My work includes roles such as a community health worker at Hackensack Meridian Health, ABA home therapist, university fellow, peer tutor, case manager, and psychiatric technician. I have served vulnerable populations across psychiatric hospitals, behavioral health centers, and residential facilities. I hold numerous certifications, including Disaster Response Crisis Counselor, Certified Peer Recovery Specialist, Patient Care Technician, Mental Health First Aid, and specialized training in Harm Reduction Interventions and Child Advocacy & Policy. I also hold firearms and security licenses and am trained in ICS Emergency Response protocols. An active member of several honor societies and professional organizations—including Psi Chi, Alpha Lambda Delta, and Toastmasters International—I am passionate about leadership, advocacy, and lifelong learning. With a trauma-informed lens and deep commitment to justice, I aim to provide expert forensic care and advocate for systemic change at the intersection of mental health and the criminal justice system.
