ABOUT DESTIN YU
I am currently a sophomore at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, pursuing a double major in Actuarial Science & Statistics. I am passionate about catastrophe and climate risk modeling, as well as applying quantitative methods to solve complex insurance and risk management challenges. I have passed three actuarial exams: P, FM, and MAS-1. I will be interning with State Farm in Summer 2026 as a P&C Actuarial Analyst, following my prior experience as a Life Pricing Actuarial Intern at COUNTRY Financial in Summer 2025. On campus, I serve as Workshops Director for the Actuarial Science Club, where I organize professional development events, and I am an active member of the AXIS Risk Management Academy, contributing to research on climate resiliency in insurance.
