ABOUT DESMOND CONWAY

I am fortunate to have enjoyed a career that has evolved through a multitude of fields and across different continents and cultures including Africa, Asia, Middle East and North America.I began working in Africa in 2004 and developed a deep compassion for the people and landscape. In Ethiopia I worked with governmental and local leaders to develop organic farming and social housing, while in Somaliland my work extended to renewables and infrastructure. I also represented both Governments as an advisor on foreign investment.My experiences in Africa have forged a deep personal bond with the region and a sense of responsibility and determination to secure sustainable development for the people. As my own children have grown I realise how vital it is that we consider the value of socially responsible investments. Their futures depend upon it. I believe that the finance industry is uniquely positioned to offer environmentally responsible investment opportunities in the future and have identified a variety of projects and structures that will enable this. By considering renewable energy and suitable ESG analysis, I want to inspire investors to do good with their capital. I want to make a difference.I want to look forward and consider what is important for my children and the world in which they live. I want to offer responsible investments for a sustainable tomorrow. After all, why would anyone choose to invest irresponsibly?
