ABOUT DESIREE LANGENFELD
I hold a Bachelor of Environmental Studies and a Master of Science from the University of Manitoba. Throughout my undergraduate studies I worked numerous co-op positions which provided me with valuable experience in the environmental sciences field (https://desireelangenfeld.weebly.com/). My masters research focused on the impacts of microplastics on freshwater planktonic communities. I now work as a biologist at IISD-ELA and am the project coordinator for the pELAstic Project, a multi-collaborator project that is working to understand the fate and effects of microplastics on freshwater ecosystems (https://thepelasticproject.com/).
