Tier escalation support for all WIFI platforms and services in the Cox network. • Escalation point for all WIFI Engineers and technicians in the local markets. • Responsible for mitigating and resolving major nationwide WIFI outages that affected entire markets. • Responsible for assisting local WIFI and access engineers with getting Access points online when needed. • Manages 7 Cisco 8500 Wireless LAN controllers with an average of online access points (collectively). • Manages 5 Rukus Vsz Wireless LAN controllers with an average of online access points (collectively). • Setup WIFI test environments for Tier II engineers when needed. • Responsible for staging new configurations in a lab environment before pushing to production. • Responsible for configuring new WIFI routes to advertise to the backbone via BGP. • Responsible for configuring core backbone routers to accept new WIFI routes via BGP. • Responsible for configuring event driven access (WIFI) for entire cities using outdoor access points.(e.g. Free California outdoor WIFI during wildfires). • Configures and updates DHCP interfaces on Wireless Access Gateways for different wireless client types. • Configures and updates groups on Wireless Access Gateways when needed. • Upgrades Cisco Wireless LAN controllers when needed. • Upgrades IOS on Cisco switches when needed. • Configure tacacs for controllers and switches. • Works with security to update router/switch ACL\'s and disable features that have known vulnerabilities. • Utilizes Redhat utility server to query data from various devices. Also uses this server to troubleshoot issues (packet captures, running scripts, set CRON’s, etc.) • Provides training and MOP documents to Tier II / NOC teams.
