About Derrick Purcell
I am a Lead Autonomous Validation Engineer at General Motors seeking to expand my skill set and working knowledge of Infotainment technologies to understand how the Autonomous field will shape and structure the future of how consumers will drive their vehicles.I have been in the GM Validation organization for 9 years as of April 2012, and in the short term I am looking to pursue a role outside of Validation preferably specific to Infotainment. Other alternatives consist of continuing in the Autonomous field, shifting over to the non-autonomous EV (electric vehicle) field, pursue a cross-functional role in which I could use and leverage my previous Validation experience, or pursue a completely different role which focuses on customer experience and being an advocate to inspire and maintain overall brand/customer loyalty (i.e. marketing).I am open to relocation in both the short and long term as I would like to start pursing possible opportunities in the Dallas/Fort Worth area preferably (or as close to this area as possible). Remote work is also viable as I have been fully remote since March 2020.I am a highly energetic and passionate individual, and I love to learn new things. In any given task, I strongly believe that learning is only half the battle. As long as you have the willingness to learn, then in the end you will accomplish your goal. I also enjoy meeting and networking with new people because that makes the biggest difference in social interaction, whether it is in a personal or professional setting.In summary, I love and appreciate being an engineer!
