ABOUT DERRICK
Derrick sets and executes the distribution strategy for Group Benefits, Group Retirement and Creditor businesses. He leads a team of Strategy, Marketing and Communications, and Client/Advisor facing professionals. Together they bring Canada Life’s brand promise to life, finding innovative solutions for advisors, clients, and plan members. Through a career in the financial services sector spanning 30 years on both the corporate and advisor sides of the business, Derrick has a clear understanding of the needs within the advisor and client community. As a co-founder and CEO of Groupworks Financial Corp, one of the first pension and benefits aggregators in Canada, he experienced firsthand the rapidly changing dynamics of the distribution landscape. Derrick and his family live in Toronto with their many adopted pets and spend much of their time enjoying the outdoors in the Collingwood area. As an avid animal lover, Derrick sits on the Board of Directors of the Georgian Triangle Humane Society after having volunteered with the organization for many years, fostering and providing love and care for animals until they’re ready for adoption.
