Here I developed advanced machine learning tools to enhance the Allen Telescope Array’s (ATA) multibeam capabilities for detecting and isolating potential technosignature signals. I built and trained an autoencoder to learn compact representations of typical radio observations from real ATA data augmented with simulated signals. This helped the model identify features characteristic of both human-made radio frequency interference (RFI) and potential signals of interest.To further refine signal isolation, I integrated a contrastive neural network into the pipeline. This model learned to compare signal representations across multiple beams, enabling it to differentiate between widespread RFI (present in multiple beams) and localized signals (present in a single beam), which are of greater interest in the search for technosignatures.
