About Derrick Miller

I’m a program and project management professional with more than a decade of experience leading large-scale initiatives in clean energy, technology and operations. What motivates me most is building programs that create measurable impact whether that’s scaling customer adoption in renewable energy, aligning multiple teams or helping organizations create strategies that drive successful, long-term results.Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working across startups and established organizations, often in fast-moving and resource-constrained environments. Most recently at Swell Energy, I led one of the most complex residential virtual power plant programs in the U.S. helping scale enrollments from a few hundred to more than 1,200 customers in a year while delivering over 20 MW of grid services capacity. Earlier in my career at CLEAResult, I managed multiple demand response programs with Evergy, growing each program\'s effectiveness year over year while leading a team and improving performance metrics. Across these roles I’ve learned that successful program management is not just about execution, it’s about people. I enjoy connecting with stakeholders, building partnerships and finding common ground to move complex initiatives forward. I was once described as a “tenacious planner and cross-functional operator” with “unshakeable optimism” and I take pride in bringing that mindset to every challenge.
